Keeping Orbit Open for Business: The Future of Space Traffic Management
Orbital safety is becoming an infrastructure problem with no settled owner or business model. As space objects grow in number and diversity, operators need accurate tracking, faster warnings, clearer coordination, and credible options for mitigating debris and managing risk. This panel examines what a functioning space traffic management ecosystem should include—and who should build, govern, and pay for it. Panelists will explore government data, commercial sensors and analytics, operator-contributed information, insurers, standards bodies, and remediation providers. The conversation will address data quality, liability, cybersecurity, international coordination, rules of the road, and limits of voluntary participation.
