Space cybersecurity can no longer be treated as a ground-network issue or compliance exercise after systems are designed. Satellites, mission software, cloud environments, ground stations, launch facilities, suppliers, and data links form a connected attack surface with consequences for commercial operations, civil missions, and national security. This panel examines cyber resilience across the mission lifecycle. Panelists will discuss secure-by-design engineering, zero-trust architectures, software assurance, on-orbit detection and response, supply-chain risk, CMMC obligations, incident coordination, and recovery when assets cannot be physically reached. The conversation will explore how responsibilities should be divided among spacecraft manufacturers, operators, cloud providers, ground networks, customers, and government agencies—and how smaller suppliers can meet rising expectations without exclusion. Attendees will gain practical insight into threats likely to disrupt space operations, controls that materially reduce risk, and the procurement, information-sharing, and operational practices needed to protect individual missions and shared space infrastructure.
