As plans for orbital manufacturing, lunar settlements, asteroid mining, and crewed deep-space missions continue to advance, a fundamental question remains underexplored: how much mass will actually be required to build and sustain these systems? While future space activities are often discussed in terms of destinations and capabilities, the scale of material needed to support them is rarely quantified in a way that connects ambition to physical reality.

This session examines the mass requirements associated with several widely proposed space initiatives and compares them to current and near-term launch capacity.
