Wanjiku Chebet Kanjumba

Wanjiku Chebet Kanjumba is an aerospace engineer, futurist, and the Co-Founder and CEO of Vicillion, where she leads development of SpaceSync and the Integrated Network for Commercial Spaceports (INCS), coordination infrastructure for spaceports and orbital operations. She is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department, alongside working toward certifications in Engineering Leadership, Engineering Innovation, and Engineering Project Management, at the University of Florida. Her dissertation develops guidance, navigation, and control methods for approaching and capturing non-cooperative tumbling objects, a core capability for debris remediation and on-orbit servicing.

Her research spans autonomous conjunction management, debris remediation architectures, secure data-sharing protocols for space operations, and interplanetary logistics. She serves on the advisory board of the Space Debris Foundation and is Director of Spaceport Developments as well as an R&D Career Astronaut-Candidate at Titans Space Industries.

Her work is driven by a commitment to equitable access to space, especially the participation of emerging space nations in the orbital economy, including launch infrastructure development in Africa. She believes the rules, data systems, and business models built for orbit today will decide who can operate there tomorrow, and she mentors students and early-career engineers working toward that future. Her ultimate goal is to deliver transformative innovations to the aerospace field while breaking barriers and enabling sustainable human expansion into space.
